About me.
I am a 20 year-old from Helsinki, Finland. I currently reside and study in Amsterdam. I'm an aspiring filmaker and painter.
I fell in love with the world of film at a very young age, my father and I would rent movies nightly from the local pharmacy. I became obsessed with documentaries and cinema and at the age of 12 I grabbed a GoPro Hero 3 and made my youtube channel in may of 2017. About 189 videos later, I managed to grow a following of about 1.4k and amassing 124,000 total views. In 2022-23 during my final year of Ib-highschool I grew a disdain towards youtube, algorithims, and the content I was making. I wanted fullfill my potential and make films. A year later, I made the short film "Memory".
I fell in love with the world of art ever since I can remember. A product of my own enviroment, growing up around the artist and art collectors. I come from a long line of architects and painters. Growing up underneath my family and their friends paintings and designs, art was one of the few constants in my life. Drawing and painting throughout my life I decided around January of 2022 to focus on the disciplinary of art over video. Obessively painting and creating in my studio apartment I graduated highschool and took part in my compulsory military service. Shortly after, I attended HEO's Kuvataide ja Urbaani Kuva course and took part in two exhibitions by spring of 2024.
In January of 2024 I developed a health issue that has put my life on pause. I have moved to Amsterdam and have enrolled in the media,art,architecture and design course at the VU, however, this health issue has effected every living moment and everything around me. I have optimism for the future (and the dutch healthcare), I hope to be in good health soon.
Over the past five years I have been fortunate enough to meet and learn from amazing teachers, proffessors, and artists alike. Due to the faith they all hold within me, I am able to commit to a life of creation in confidence. In Albert Camus's "Create Dangerously" he argues that it is an artist responsibility to create, I feel I was born with this responsibility and I wish to fufill my duty. I crave to depict compelling stories that transport an audience to my eyes and I long to paint pieces that can express what I fail to speak.
